How to Ensure Safety and Security Across a Public Transportation Network
The Client
The customer is the operator of public transport on the US East Coast. On weekdays, over a million passengers are transported via 11 rail, 3 metro, 4 tram and 150 bus routes.
The Requirement
The customer wants a nationwide and seamless overview of all routes in real time in order to be able to initiate countermeasures or assistance more quickly.
The video footage must be accepted as evidence in court. The client has demanded that all video data be synchronised live during operation, i.e. while driving, with the main and back-up control centres. In standard situations, several alarm sequences are to be triggered automatically and in parallel.
The video security solution is designed to dramatically improve security, simplify overall operations, allocate personnel more efficiently, identify and leverage resources, and reduce costs.
The Challange
Up until now, incidents, accidents, vandalism and unusual events, especially on modes of transport and at stops, have never been fully recorded. Rescue and
emergency services are given only delayed information with little detail. This lack of evidence has often been exploited by those affected when claiming or inflating claims for damages. The numerous, often unjustified procedures have cost a great deal in financial and human resources. The loss of one or more means of transport has attracted considerable delays.

The Geutebrück Individual Solution
- The solution has the capacity to seamlessly transfer large volumes of data over the Wi-Fi mesh, to analyse in realtime, and to retrieve a desired sequence in just seconds.
- It can automatically transfer video alarms and other metadata (e.g. geolocation) to the existing train management system for centralised evaluation.
- Thanks to Geutebrück, now only authorised persons can gain access to live images or sensitive image data of any kind due to granular privileged access rights.
- Geutebrück has a proprietary image format (GBF) available that can not be manipulated. GBF may also be relied on as evidence in US courts.
- The system is high-performance, backed-up and fail-safe.
- Together with Geutebrück USA, a tailor-made and highly available solution was developed and integrated into the existing systems.
